Akron Haunted Schoolhouse & Haunted Laboratory
When: Thursdays and Sundays from 7:30-10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30-midnight
Where: 1300 Triplett Blvd.
Cost: $14 for single haunt, $26 combo on Sundays, Thursdays and Halloween. $15 single and $29 combo for Fridays and Saturdays
Features: The Haunted Schoolhouse is three floors of terror, and includes Dracula’s castle, the evil king’s dungeon and more. The Haunted Laboratory is four floors of fright including two state-of-the-art Tesla coils, a vortex Twilight Zone tunnel and scenes from the Chainsaw Massacre.

Poe Arises to Walk and Talk in Akron
When: Sundays in October, 4:30 with dinner, 5:45 tour
Where: Glendale Cemetery, 150 Glendale Ave.
Cost: $48 for dinner, tour and encounter; $36 for tour and encounter
Features: The evening begins with a dinner buffet at Spaghetti Warehouse before traveling to Glendale Cemetery to hear its history and then meet Edgar at dusk turning to night.

Murder In The Mansion: A Thorny Situation

Features: This year’s mystery centers around a botany awards ceremony gone terribly wrong and involves murder, deception, betrayal, secrecy, and jealousy.

DeBord Halloween Party

Ghost Brothers of Darkland County

Where: Akron Civic Theatre, 182 South Main St.

Features: A collaboration between Stephen King, John Mellencamp and T-Bone Burnett. Set in the tiny town of Lake Belle Reve, Miss., the story centers on two sets of brothers: the ghosts of Jack and Andy, dead in an apparent murder/suicide, and their nephews, the living Frank and Drake, who seem to be headed toward the same downward spiral as their uncles.

10th Annual Halloween Charity Ball

Halloween Bash Friendraiser

Masque of the Red Death Macabre Halloween Ball

Where: Hale Farm and Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road
Cost: $10 adults, $5 for children 3-12
Features: The Hale Farm barnyards are alive with harvest activities and animals, including chickens, oxen, hogs, and sheep. Other activities include pumpkin painting, wagon rides through the grounds, a huge pile of hay and samples and tastes of the fall season.

Third Annual Cemetery Stroll

19th annual Halloween Storytelling
When: Oct. 24, 7-8 p.m.
Where: Twinsburg Historical Society barn, 9577 Darrow Road
Cost: Free; reservations required
Features: Presented by the Twinsburg Public Library and the Twinsburg Historical Society. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade in costume and accompanied by an adult are welcome. Refreshments will be provided. The barn has no heat.
